Accomplishments

On the County Board, Bridget has worked tirelessly to make progress on important issues like climate change, public safety, and infrastructure. During her tenure, she has co-sponsored over 450 pieces of legislation, on topics ranging from taxes to equity measures.

  • Balanced Approach to Public Safety

Too many in our community suffer from unaddressed mental health issues, exacerbated by issues like homelessness and food insecurity. Meanwhile, our broken system leaves police ill-equipped yet tasked with addressing these issues. To address this issue, I created a mobile crisis intervention team to get those with mental health issues the professional support they need, freeing up law enforcement to concentrate on crime.

  • Improving Infrastructure

Cook County is a vital connecting point for travel across the country. But, for many years our critical infrastructure sat in disrepair. To remedy this, we have spent $1.5M on local infrastructure updates in the district to the roads and paths citizens rely on every day, including a trail in Clark Park and a new roundabout and stop signs at Harding and Berteau.

  • Protecting Our Environment

Improving the County’s natural environment and working to fight climate change are causes close to my heart. I am proud to have facilitated tree planting near courthouses in Bridgeview and Maywood, fought for the electrification of our PACE bus fleet, and advocated for dozens of other measures aimed at protecting the environment.

  • Easing the Financial Load

As many struggle with rising costs and confusing taxes, my office made an effort to minimize the burden. Our office assisted hundreds with property tax appeals and exemptions and hosted Property Tax Appeal Seminars. To be a responsible steward of your tax dollars, I only voted for budgets that were balanced and did not raise taxes.
